The eighth edition of Seguriexpo Buenos Aires 2009 ended successfully. Businessmen of integral safety made a strong bet facing the global economy ups and downs and took part during three days in La Rural Trade Center. There were 114 exhibiting companies, and 9,000 professional visitors and large safety consumers attended the fair. Seguriexpo Buenos Aires 2009 was a no-miss event for the whole sector of integral safety that hopes to continue growing. During the three days,114 exhibiting companies coming from seven countries, Brazil, China, Spain, USA, Israel, Italy and Mexico, took part in the event. The fair has been organized by the Argentine Chamber of Electronic Safety (CASEL) and Indexport Messe Frankfurt. The industry businessmen face the challenge of updating their companies in order to get new markets. For this reason, their presence in Seguriexpo Buenos Aires 2009 was a great opportunity to show themselves, interact with their colleagues, get training and share ideas that promote the activity. Within the framework of this eighth edition of Seguriexpo 2009, the 2nd Matchmaking Program of Safety Products and Services organized by Indexport Messe Frankfurt, Fundación Export.Ar and Pro Argentina took place. Six foreign buyers coming from Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru participated in the program and held useful meetings with Argentine businessmen that attended the fair. The result was highly positive. In the fair opening ceremony, the President of Indexport Messe Frankfurt, Mr. Fernando Gorbarán, addressed the businessmen with the following message: "…your presence in this opening ceremony makes us very happy and confirms our efforts to put up what we are enjoying today. This is an industrial, commercial, and services exhibition that always tries to bring more development, more businesses to Argentina and that tries to (...) show itself with the dignity that Argentine businessmen develop in order to overcome difficult times (…)" Eng. Eduardo Capelo, President of CASEL said: "I'm really very proud to see this fair in this situation. The businessmen response to a difficult moment, a global crisis time, worsen by Influenza A problem (…) But, thanks to the confidence and initiative of businessmen, the alignment of the whole CASEL Executive Committee and Indexport Messe Frankfurt effort, everybody brought (…) enthusiasm, creativity, inventiveness and today we have a fair we are all proud of it. We really appreciate the effort made by Export.Ar and Pro Argentina. When we see the result of Argentine exports in this field, we feel highly surprised because we are not only exporting equipment such as turnstiles (you see here), clocks, barriers but also high value added systems, systems in which the whole capacity of Argentine engineering is added (…)" Dr. Marcelo Elizondo, Executive Director of Fundación Export.Ar stated: "You know that, as an agency for Argentina foreign commercial promotion, Fundación Export.Ar organizes many matchmaking programs in the country, by bringing foreign businessmen. The great virtue of this kind of events is that of organizing a bilateral meeting, many bilateral meetings. The international businessmen we summon from different countries such as Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile and Peru (…) tell me about good experiences (…) We all know that the first half of the year has been complex both for Argentina and the world, but fortunately the exports are recovering. In January, Argentine exports were 35% down compared with January 2008 and in June-July they are 3 or 4% down compared with the same months of the previous year (…) We will get to the end of the year with levels similar to the ones of the end of 2008. The industry will export more than 12,000 million dollars this year (…) and this event tries to help, to bring technology, knowledge, management as the ones exhibiting companies, which I'd like to congratulate, are showing to the world. Bach. Carlos A. Bozzalla, General Coordinator of Pro Argentina, said: "I'm here on behalf of the undersecretary of Politics and Commercial Management of the Industry Department of Argentina's Production Department. We, by means of this program, jointly organize the matchmaking program with Fundación Export.Ar. These are the matchmaking programs we really like to organize because the Production Department has strived to get Argentine exports with increasingly high technological content and added value. By visiting this wonderful fair you can see the word "technology" is present in all stands (…)" Some of the exhibiting companies expressed their opinions regarding their presence in the fair: ALARI 3 AXIS BIO CARD TECNOLOGÍA FIESA SONY UBICAR ARGENTINA One of the attractions of the fair and the most visited one, both by professional visitors and press media, was the demo space named Ciudad Segura. An area that simulated a city in action and the safety systems installed to be protected. This space has a small public sector, a schematized urban sector by a family house and a company or office building typical lobby. Besides, there was a multiple safety room opened to audience in such a way that visitors can see remote operation of electronic safety companies in charge of supervising and monitoring different sectors of urban grounds. Simultaneously to the fair, the International Congress on Electronic Safety (CISE) took place. The next edition of Intersec Buenos Aires will be carried out on September 1-3, 2010.
