Presse Press FINAL REPORT

August 2006

The new edition of Seguriexpo BISEC 2006 ended up in a smashing and surprising success. For the first time both exhibitions were held together at La Rural Trade Center. The experience has exceeded the expectations of the organizers for the quality of the booths, the professional character of the visitors and the prestige of all the academic activities held in parallel.

Seguriexpo Bisec 2006 occupied an area of 12,000 sq mt, where 170 companies displayed their state-of-the-art technology products and services in the integrated security and safety market. 11,421 professionals and technicians of this industry attended the exhibition. The attendants included businessmen from France, Israel, Mexico, South Africa, Taiwan, Algeria, Armenia, Spain, Russia, Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia, Peru, US, Paraguay, Chile, Brazil and Uruguay. Mr. Luis Tibiletti, Secretary of Homeland Security, reporting to the National Minister of Domestic Affairs, was among the visitors.

Mr. Fernando Gorbarán, the President of Indexport Messe Frankfurt, stated in his opening speech: “The organizers responsible for staging this event are extremely pleased to open this exhibition that meets two basic conditions: the intelligent bond and maturity of the business people in this industry, who, leaving aside any differences, work together toward a shared goal: Seguriexpo BISEC 2006.”

Cámara Argentina de Seguridad Electrónica (CASEL, the Argentinean Chamber of Electronic Security), Cámara Argentina de Seguridad (CAS, the Argentinean Chamber of Safety), Instituto Argentino de Normalización y Certificación (IRAM, the Argentinean Standardization and Certification Institute) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) are linked to this project.

The President of CASEL, Mr. Eduardo Capelo, also highlighted this alliance in the opening ceremony: “This synergy obtained between the business chambers in this industry, such as CAS and CASEL, and regulators such as IRAM and NFPA, is an example of business maturity, which allows us to offer the Argentinean / Latin American community the latest technological advances in such a sensitive and vital area for the wellbeing of citizens as security and safety(...)”.

The President of CAS, Mr. Ignacio Bunge pointed out, in his address: …“This exhibition should send a message to all industries in this country, because peoples who exercise prevention are those that can distinguish between preventing and regretting. Also, this exhibition will serve the mission of teaching and showing what material is available for prevention. Year after year the products in the fair improve their performance and quality, and the user has more and better items. To those who are skeptical, to those who doubt whether this big effort will serve some purpose, I tell them to cast away those doubts. This is the way to follow the directions of the Argentinean Chamber of Safety, that is, asserting prevention awareness (…)”.

The President of IRAM, Mr. López, stated: “(…) we had a great surprise today, when we arrived at the exhibition, which, as Argentineans, fills us with pride. So much so, that we reflected that we had found shared ground between businessmen and organizations, who share the will to serve the community. It is then that we have to acknowledge the fact that this is a joint effort by people who are thinking of making progress and raising the country to international recognition. I believe that this shows the road that we, Argentineans, have to walk, as our responsibility. Argentina’s issues cannot be solved through executive orders, but by Argentineans willing to do things and to show the world that we comply with our responsibilities. This actually demands sacrifice, effort and dedication. That is precisely a token of responsibility that we need to fulfill so that we, Argentineans, find that these are the things we need to do (...)”.

Finally, Jaime Moncada Perez, Member of the Board of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), indicated: “…Walking the exhibition has been a great experience to me; it is nice and well organized. You should be proud, both organizers and exhibitors at the different booths alike, for the quality of the exhibition. This fair has nothing to envy from others all over the world (...)”.

The academic activities were part of the attractions of the fair and of the reasons that places this event on the international exhibition calendar, both for the prestige of the speakers and for the volume and diversity of the activities being held simultaneously. Five congresses and 50 conferences by exhibitors were offered, with a total number of 154 speakers and 1051 attendants. One of the members of Heathrow Airport Security, Mr. Ian Rossen, gave a conference with images shown for the first time in the country, of the terrorist attack on July 7 in London. Three full auditorium rooms heard him. The technical concepts offered by the British security expert were the highlights of the presentation.

Some of the congresses held were: The Second Total Safety Technical Congress, the International Forest Fire and Rescue Congress, the Fourth International Congress on Personal Security without Violence against Crime and the First International Congress on Human Security, the International Technical Day “Private Security in Argentina Discussed” and E-Security Courses.

An activity took place that had a strong impact on visitors: Live rescue from heights, organized by the Federal Firemen Council.

Exhibitors could only praise the organization and indicated quite satisfactory results as to visitors and contacts made. Some feedback:
