FINAL REPORT

The forth edition of Seguriexpo Buenos Aires ended and it turned out to be a huge success. Initial expectations were widely exceeded in terms of to the number of visitors and the number of exhibitors. This was clearly reflected in the exhibitors’ reaction, who only had word of praise, joy and even excitement about the next edition.

The South American Integral Security Exhibition covered a 7,000-sq/m area, where 124 companies displayed their products and services related to the latest technologies the security marketplace has to offer.

The managing director with Indexport Messe Frankfurt, Fernando Gorbarán said, “Seguriexpo Buenos Aires is the most important Integral Security exhibition in Argentina. This is not only a result of the investment we made to achieve this goal but mainly, of the growth and y strengthening of this industry within the marketplace”.
The academic activities were one of the fair’s highlights. On one hand, the Congress on Information Security, InfoSecurity 2005, was organized by I-SEC and Indexport Messe Frankfurt. 58 conferences were lectured by 74 speakers.

On the other hand, the Academic Seminars were held with a total of 36 lectures, divided into three auditoriums, during which exhibitor companies introduced their products and services to all participants.

Another highlight of the exhibition was the Demo area: a sector where, through the recreation of an intelligent office building, the operation of the participating exhibitors’ products and services was displayed.

Likewise, it was very important to have the support and summoning power of CASEL, the Argentina Chamber of Electronic Security. Its Chairman, Eng. Enrique Greenberg, explain during the opening ceremony: “All businessmen here are taking part in this exhibition because we are positive that security must be considered a matter or State; there must be an policy agreed upon towards a single goal- reducing crime rates. We expect Seguriexpo to provide the population and government officials with the elements we put at their disposal: devices, technology and services to help them make suitable decisions; without which the results we pursue cannot be obtained. We also expect to become a reference for government officials so they can resort to our professional when the time of preparing bills, decrees and regulations comes. I think this industry must be a part of the decision-making process”.

Among the prominent personalities who attended the exhibition was the chairman of Fundación Export.Ar, Dr. Marcelo Elizondo, who stated: “Many years ago, Fundación Export.Ar has made a strong commitment towards the industry developing technology innovation and applied knowledge. We live in the information society and, since the difference in the offer by each company provides value, we are committed to have a country which economy is not only developing but also creating well-being for our society as a whole. (...) For Fundación Exportar it’s great news to know the rate at which argentine exports are growing and have been growing for years now, i.e. two percentage digits a year. As exports grow there is a very interesting process of incorporation of small and medium-sized companies which results new in successful exporters every year, who expand within the marketplace based on said applied knowledge, creativity and technology.”

Exhibitors were extremely satisfied about this fourth edition of Seguriexpo 2005, they were satisfied about the number of visitors, the quality of the exhibition, its organization and they were all very excited about the next edition of this fair, which will take place in June 2006.
